The Background

Colombia is a massive producer of coffee and considered to be home to some of the best coffee beans in the world. Colombia sits within the coffee belt, a latitude range that centers around the equator, and benefits from an ideal climate enabling coffee growth all year. The Colombian terrain in which coffee is typically grown is mountainous, which provides high altitude growing conditions, as well as nutrient rich soil. Only the largest, highest grade supremo beans are used in this Colombian Dark Roast coffee. This coffee lives up to the hype, and offers something a little different too.

What makes this Colombian Dark Roast Coffee special?

This Colombian Dark Roast coffee includes notes of earth and cherry, that are wonderfully amplified by the darker roast profile. The rich taste that is expected of Colombian coffee is in full force here, and is coupled with a tasty honey-toned sweetness. The acidity here is less bright than your typical Colombian coffee, but is balanced in a way that allows it to compliment the rest of the profile nicely and still finish sweet and smooth. The focus on a more darkly roasted bean brings out some earthy character that isn't typically as notable in Colombian coffee, making this a nice change of pace. This is a complex cup of coffee that balances several aspects quite well, multiple cups are a must to appreciate everything that is going on!
