The Background
The Democratic Republic of the Congo sits right upon the equator. Because of this, a warm climate is present through out the year. This Congo coffee is grown in the Kivu region. The Kivu growing region resides on a high plateau, and is situated near the borders of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. In spite of the close proximity, Congo coffee presents a very distinguished taste profile. The availability of coffee from Congo is unfortunately inconsistent, due to various conflicts. There does seem to be promise for the future, and coffee from Congo will hopefully be more readily available in the near future. As of right now, we are lucky to have Fresh Roasted Coffee's Congo Kivu coffee!
