The Background

El Salvador is a small, mountainous country located in Central America. The city of San Miguel is located in eastern El Salvador. The grower, Finca Santa Isabel, is well known in the world of coffee for a good reason. These beans are grown high in the mountains at altitudes from 1200-1600m. Nutrient rich soils provided by surrounding volcanoes add to the ideal coffee growing conditions. These high grown beans mature slowly, leading to a very well developed taste profile. Teasia sources these single origin San Miguel coffee beans using environmentally friendly, sustainable practices.

What makes El Salvador San Miguel Coffee special?

Coffee taste profiles from El Salvador often have a toned down acidity compared to those from other Central American countries. San Miguel coffee, however, offers a bright, citrus-toned bite! Finca Santa Isabel uses a Bourbon varietal here. This coffee is quite complex, offering notes of apple, lime and caramel, as well as a delicious honey-like sweetness. Despite the notable bite, this coffee finishes clean and smooth, without an acidic aftertaste. There is a lot going on here, multiple cups are definitely in order to appreciate this one!
