The Background
Monsooned Malabar coffee gets it's name from the unique monsooning process that the beans are subject to prior to roasting. After the beans are harvested, they are exposed to monsoon rains and winds for several months. This process causes the beans to swell and change color from green to a yellowish brown. It also greatly reduces the acidity of the beans, enhances the body and helps to further develop sweetness! These beans are AA classified, meaning that they are larger than average. Only the biggest and best beans have made it into this product!
What makes Indian Monsooned Malabar AA Coffee special?
Indian Monsooned Malabar coffee is unlike any other coffee, so if you're looking for a good change of pace, these are your beans! A robust, earthy and spicy taste includes smoky notes of tobacco, wood and some hints of chocolate. Even if this doesn't sound overly appealing, give it a chance. You'll be surprised. Despite the multitude of harsher notes present, this coffee remains smooth and refined. This is a great option for anyone that prefers a low acid coffee, as the monsooning process removes the majority of the natural coffee acids.
