The Background

Nicaragua is one of many Central American countries that enjoy an ideal climate for the growth of coffee. The Pacamara varietal is relatively new, having been first created in El Salvador. Pacamara is a cross between the Pacas and Maragogype varietals and gets it's name from the first 4 letters of each! These beans are grown at high altitudes between 1400-1600m in Jinotega, Nicaragua. Growth at this altitude causes the beans to develop more slowly, and therefore have a longer period of time to absorb nutrients. This leads to more developed flavor!

What makes Nicaragua Pacamara Coffee special?

Nicaragua Pacamara beans offer something different than what you're likely used to. This hybrid varietal is delicious as a light roast. This coffee is nice and mellow, yet still offers plenty of flavor! Berry flavor notes take the forefront and hints of vanilla can also be tasted. A honey-toned sweetness sticks around in the form of a sustained finish. A fruity brightness is present, but does not overwhelm. Compared to many lightly roast coffees, the acidity here is low. If you've never heard of this varietal before, check out Nicaragua Pacamara beans, you won't regret it!
